The American Jiu-Jitsu Federation (AMJJF) is committed to showcasing the grappling arts on an exciting main-stream spectator friendly platform.
AMJJF will host and broadcast professional team-based grappling tournaments that everyone can easily follow and enjoy. By expanding the reach and appeal of Jiu-Jitsu, the AMJJF will provide athlete's a larger platform to grow and thrive.
The AMJJF ruleset forces competitors to fight out of bad positions by allowing points to accumulate over time for the person in the dominant positions. Regulation matches will be a maximum of 10 minutes long or finish early via submission or when a competitor accumulates 100 points. If neither competitor reaches 100 points during the regulation, the competitor with the most points at the end of regulation wins the match.
Points are awarded as per the following:
Submission: 100 Points
Takedowns: 10
Pulling Guard: 0
First one up after Double Guard Pull: 5
Sweep: 10
Passing the Guard: 1 point/second in Top Side Control/North South
Full Mount: 2 Points/second in Full Mount/Knee on Belly
Back Mount: 2 Points/second of Back Mount (Hooks or Triangle)
